Johann Odendaal is the executive Chairman of the TriFour group of companies, a specialist supplier of software solutions to the private, industrial and public healthcare markets in Africa. The company currently provides comprehensive IT support systems to more than nearly 100 clients in South Africa and Africa.
Johann is a past President of the South African Health Informatics Association. Incorporated in 1992, SAHIA is the professional organisation for Health Informatics practitioners in South Africa.
He has been intimately involved in the development of software to the health industry for more than 30 years during which time he was general manager of McDonnell Douglas Health Services Division, one of the world’s most successful providers of turnkey solutions for the Information Technology needs of hospitals.
Thereafter Johann became the proprietor of Intersolve which was subsequently purchased by Ariva.
Johann founded TriFour Health in 2002 to expand the delivery of specialised software solutions for hospitals and clinics in Africa and has seen the company grow to become the preferred supplier of hospital information technology systems in Africa.
Product development is overseen by Jos Dry, a co-founder of the company and supported by a team of specialised software developers and support technicians who ensure that the needs of individual clients are satisfied.
Johann has presented numerous papers on the application of information systems in health care.
